Who We Are

I started making jewelry to see if I could. What I found out was that not only could I but that it was the thing I should have been doing my whole life. I named my new venture Naked Stones Jewelry because the stones are as close to their natural state as can be. No dyes, no heat treatment, no messing with what nature intended (except a little polish). I started with rings and pendants and branched out into earrings and bracelets. Rather than thinking of all the time I wasted on every other “work” activity I had done for years, I thought of how I could apply all that I had learned into this wonderful new thing. To take the joyous times at other vocations, and mold them into the thing that I found that I love the most. Here is the result. Rings and other adornments, made of Sterling Silver set with exotic naked stones like Tourmaline, Pietersite, Grandidierite, Azurite, Turquoise, Pearls and Moonstones and more. All of the stones I use are 100 percent natural with no enhancements except polish, and, from time to time, faceting. All of my designs are handcrafted, and most are one of a kind, shaped, torched and polished by hand. The Amethyst I use is from Brazil or Africa, my Turquoise is exclusively from Arizona, Nevada or New Mexico. My Opals are almost always from Australia, either Lightning Ridge Opals or Koroit Opals. My tourmaline is from California or Afghanistan. I buy from small independent cutters across the globe and in the USA. My intent is to foster the art of stone cutting and incorporate only the most unusual semi-precious and precious stones into my Jewelry. My Herkimer Diamond Jewelry is set with Herkimer Diamonds from the Herkimer Mine in New York State. My Silver collection is made of Sterling Silver. You, my friends deserve nothing less.

From my long career in the construction industry I applied principles of physics and design. How to create something that will last, and how to use seemingly dissimilar materials to create harmony. From my early career in high end hotel on site marketing, I took away a love of unique jewelry worn by lovely independent men and women of substance. Statement pieces that don’t speak to money or cost, but that are an expression of individual style, personality and character. The brilliant colors of the natural stones worn with confidence. And finally of my career as an independent business person to create things that I love and I would want to purchase and wear. Things, pieces that reflect my observance of life and nature, and my desire to spread joy and love, on this planet, this giant rock, our shared naked stone.
